Unfrogettable Birthday

I was so disappointed to see the unfrogettable set on the retired list. This one will definitely stay in our collection. I made this birthday card for my nephew Brett. This was my first attempt at a pop up card so this set just seemed like the right one to use. The card base is bashful blue layered with wild wasabi and jersey shore dsp. I paper pieced the frogs with wild wasabi from the hostess prints pack of dsp paper. How cute are they? I then added a little hodge podge, ribbon, dazzling diamonds (dragon flies) and moving eyes (frogs) to finish it off. In Joy!

Horsin' Around

If you didn't know already, I am a horse lover and I just love this stamp from Serendipity. I brought it out to make this birthday card for my niece Erica who also loves horses. The base is choc chip layered with western sky dsp from Stampin UP! I also brought out my nestabilities, which I admittedly don't use often enough, to cut and emboss the very vanilla cardstock. I am still amazed at how awesome these dies are. Add a splash of red, some hodge podge and stitched ribbon and it's all done. In Joy!

Beautiful Wedding

My sister made this beautiful wedding card for the daughter of a friend. The silhouette from She's All That is stamped on choc chip paper with white craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment from Together Forever set is stamped with a silver Encore pad on choc chip and punched with the designer label punch. The bashful blue dsp is from the hostess prints pack. She finished it off with choc chip satin ribbon and the pretties kit. I don't know about you but I would have LOVED to get this card on my wedding day. In Joy!

Willson's Potty Chart

Yes, It's a Potty Chart. My youngest son needed some incentive so here it is. The stamp set is from Gina K and the cardstock from Stampin UP. Each of the paper rolls are backed with magnet and are colored coded (maybe that really doesn't need any more explaining, lol). Anyway, he was excited to see that Mom made something special for him while he was gone camping with his grandparents. I mounted it on 12x12 cardstock so I can put it in his scrapbook later. Apron Box & Stationery

The first picture shows the stationery that is in my apron box.

I also helped a friend make some stationery to use with her cake making business. She wanted something to write thank you notes to customers. She's All That just seemed like the perfect stamp set. When I mounted the stamps I separated the sentiments and mounted them on the side of the block so I could use the silhouettes by themselves. Her business cards are pink so I found this retired DSP paper that worked great. Now I just need to make her an apron box with magnet on the back so she can have them handy on her refrigerator. Monogram Card

I just love the Tart & Tangy set and the Summer Picnic DSP! Oh, did I forget to mention the Lovely Letters? Love them too!!!! These alphabets have me addicted to Monogramming! The apron box was an idea I had after seeing an apron card. Coming up with my template took the most time but I enjoy engineering things or figuring out someone else's. Inside the box is some stationery that will be pictured in another post. In Joy!

Embrace Life From The Heart

This card was a camp project that I just LOVE! I am so glad my sister Donna wanted this stamp set! In Joy!

Accordian Brag Book

I made these accordion brag books as a Mother's Day Gift for my Step-Grandmother, Mother-in-law, and my Mother. (Of course I put different pics in each one.) I just love the Afternoon Tea DSP paper from the Occasions Mini! This book was for Lucille, my Step-Grandmother.

This cutie is my son Willson, the only one who made a decent individual picture.
These are my Children with my Husband, Bud and also with my Step-Grandmother, Lucille.
Are you wondering why I used a picture of my Husband rather than myself? Well, I am always behind the camera (mostly on purpose)! He loves her like a mother so I knew she wouldn't mind. In Joy!

Broken SNAIL?

Has this ever happened to you? Well don't throw it away!

Next time you have a ribbon project just bring out your broken snail.

Pull out your snail and rub along ribbon.

Cut the snail at the end of your ribbon and then peel off the paper revealing your sticky ribbon.

Next it is just a matter of attaching your ribbon to your project!

It's as simple as that! Wow, I just realized this qualifies as my first ever tutorial! Looks like I am stepping up my blogging, lol. In Joy!

Graduation Announcement

Have you ever tried printer embossing? Yes, it's possible! As you can see from the photo, this technique requires speed and accuracy! We had to put the powder on as the printer was ejecting the paper in order for the embossing powder to stick to the ink. It does not work on the "best photo" setting because printing takes longer and the ink is dry before the paper comes out of the printer.

Here is the finished announcement. The details are printer embossed on vellum. In Joy!

Recipe Tins

Here are some recipe tins that my sister Donna and her aunt Martha created for their kitchens. The tins were purchased at Hobby Lobby. They covered with designer series paper and accented with chipboard. Isn't it kind of annoying that the chipboard letters don't have duplicate vowels? Oh well, Donna came up with a creative solution for hers by using a tag and stamping the word "recipe". In Joy!

Ginger Blossom Sympathy

My sister (Donna) made this beautiful sympathy card for a friend. She used Embrace Life Stamp Set, Ginger Blossom dsp, Sherbet Ribbon Originals and the Pretties Kit. Sorry for the blurry photo. In Joy!

Monogram Stationery

I had a great time making this stationery for a friend. I used Le Jardin dsp with coordinating cardstock. The watermarks were created with Baroque Motifs and French Flair. I love the new Lovely Letters alphabet set!!! I included a covered cigar style box, beaded pen and even monogrammed seals for the matching envelopes. I think this is just the beginning of my monogramming. In Joy!

Outlaw Notebook

I made this notebook for a friend from church who is in the hospital. He likes for visitors to write things to him and is currently using pieces of paper and having a hard time keeping up with them. Maybe this notebook will help him to keep them all in one place. I used the negative technique with the cuttlebug background and then just cut apart the words in order to use the ones I thought fit him best. The background was done with creamy caramel paper, vanilla craft ink and close to cocoa classic ink for the faux wood look. The large chipboard letter was covered with outlaw paper and sponged with really rust craft ink. The smaller chipboard letters where sponged with sage shadow craft ink and edged with really rust craft ink.

Get Well Soon

This card is for my uncle who recently suffered some major head injuries from a fall. I decided to incorporate Beate's weekend sketch challange and the face from a swap I received at a regional event. I used Pick A Petal stamp set with River Rock and Bordering Blue Cardstock/Ink. Hopefully this will cheer him up a bit. In Joy!

Cute Baby Boy

These baby cards were made using the Cute As A Bug Stamp Set on a folded piece of Whisper White cardstock which was cut with a paper trimmer and punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch for the neck and leg holes. It was then layered on another piece of cardstock which was then cut 1/8" larger with the paper trimmer and punched with a 1 1/4" punch creating a mat around the entire outfit. The last step was mounting the outfit on a piece of cardstock 5.5 x 4.25. I used different combinations of River Rock, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou Cardstock for each card. The outfit was trimmed with Western Sky Designer Series Paper. This trimming for the sleeves was cut with the paper trimmer and the neck/leg holes were done using the Scallop & 1 3/8" Punches. I finished off the outfit with three brads for the snaps between the legs. I think they are just adorable and would even make great shower invitations. In Joy!

Happy Birthday Carrie!

I made this card for my Step-Father whose grand-daughter Carrie just turned 8. It gave me a chance to get out my new Fine Glitter and Felt Flowers from the new catty. What FUN! I used Wild Wasabi, Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie and River Rock Cardstock and Ink. I used Bud Basics, It's Your Birthday and a retired alphabet set. I ran into a problem finding a brad that looked right with these colors so I improvised. I used versamark and heat and stick powder to adhere the glitter to both the chipboard C and a light green brad. I really like the way it turned out and what girl doesn't like this much SPARKLE! In Joy!

Holiday Bazzaar

Here is our booth at the Benton Holiday Bazzaar. We had two tables and we sat up one with samples and the other with items to sell.
